Job Description

The Assistant Manager, Design and Development is responsible for
1.Reviewing the design requirements for each job to ensure that ambiguous or conflicting requirements are resolved, and that all requirements have been included.
2.Ensuring the latest requirements of API Spec 7-1, where applicable, are included in the design documentation.
3.Creating the Lean R&D documents (Objective sheet, Sync plan, closure report etc.,) for new D&D Projects.
4.Updating activities in Focal point tool which describes the design work performed.
5.Generating 3D models & 2D layouts as Design input for Simulation & Analysis. Finalizing a Design based on the simulation results.
6.Generating component wise 2D drawings based on the finalized design layout. Releasing the drawings after due Approvals.
7.Managing the drafting activity of new drawings delegated to the CMTEC resources.
8.Providing technical support to Vendors manufacturing new development components.
9.Attending Field trials of new & existing products as part of Lean R&D Project & Sustaining activities.
10.Creating New Product Request sheets for Sustaining and New product development (Lean R & D) and filing it.
11.Creating Product Data Notice sheets for Long term projects (Lean R & D) and filing it.
12.Creating Product Change Note sheets for a design change and filing it.
13.Ensuring that the quality records are maintained as per SOP 6.1.3 – Control of Records.
14.Maintain Charts and Visuals in the pulse room on Long Term Projects.
15.Attend and conduct required meeting to communicate status and updates on Long Term Projects (Lean R & D).
16.Registration of New products in ComActivity.
17.Temporary Registration of New Products in M3.
18.Implementation and maintenance of effective IMS in Design at Hyderabad Plant.
19.Taking suitable corrective and preventive action as necessitated by the IMS.
20.Ensuring good house-keeping.

Experience requirements
5-8 years of experience in design department of Engineering industry

Knowledge/ Educational requirements
Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Mtech in Mechanical engineering.
Extensive knowledge on Pro E/Engineering design
Knowledge on ISO 9001,14001 and OHSAS 18001 is preferable.
